EASTERN FRONT by Compass Games Turn 1 | Impulse 1 and 2 The orders are through and the attack begins... but the battlefield is still hiding its secrets. In this episode of Combat! Eastern Front by Compass Games, the game finally gets underway. Before the shooting starts in earnest, we work through the opening systems that drive the battle: card draws, initiative, orders and the first impulses of Turn 1. There may not be much action yet, but the tension is already there. Both sides are trying to locate the enemy, orders are being assigned, and a string of unsuccessful spotting rolls leaves the battlefield wrapped in uncertainty. In this episode Both sides draw their cards. The Initiative Track is explained. Orders are assigned. The first two impulses of Turn 1 are completed. Several spotting attempts fail, leaving both forces feeling their way forward. The next episode will complete the final two impulses of Turn 1, and hopefully the enemy will become a little easier to find. This campaign uses the Random Scenario Generator, so we will discover together whether Combat! Eastern Front can create tense, interesting and enjoyable battles straight out of the box.
