Turn 2 is underway, and after a tense opening to the campaign, the first successful shot finally finds its target. Using a valuable Discard, Soldat Theil takes advantage of the opportunity, scoring a direct hit that lightly wounds a Soviet soldier. The successful shot not only boosts Theil's confidence but also leaves the wounded Soviet shaken, showing just how quickly the balance of a firefight can change. With his confidence growing, Theil goes on to pass several important spotting checks, helping the squad build a clearer picture of the battlefield as the attack gathers momentum. In this episode Turn 2 begins. A valuable Discard is used to create a firing opportunity. Soldat Theil scores the first successful hit of the campaign. A Soviet soldier is lightly wounded and becomes shaken. Theil's morale improves and he continues to spot enemy positions. The battle begins to gather pace. One of the things I'm already enjoying about Combat! Eastern Front is how individual soldiers start to develop their own stories. Today's hero is Soldat Theil, but on the Eastern Front, fortunes can change in an instant. This campaign is being played using the Random Scenario Generator, allowing us to discover together whether Combat! Eastern Front can consistently create tense, believable and memorable small-unit actions.
