EASTERN FRONT by Compass Games Is Combat! Eastern Front worth your time? That's exactly what I'm setting out to discover. After playing the opening turn of the introductory Barbarossa scenario, I'm sharing my first impressions of the latest game in Compass Games' Combat! series. Was it enjoyable? Was it challenging? More importantly... does it capture the uncertainty and tension of small-unit combat on the Eastern Front? In this video I'll give my honest first thoughts before beginning what I hope will become a full campaign using the game's excellent Random Scenario Generator. My first impressions An immersive and tense tactical system. Far more challenging than I expected. Every decision feels important. Plenty of potential for memorable stories. One of the things that immediately caught my attention was the Random Scenario Generator. Rather than simply playing through the published scenarios, I've decided to try the randomly generated missions to see whether the system can produce believable, challenging and, above all, enjoyable battles straight out of the box. If you're interested in tactical World War II games, solo wargaming or the Combat! series, I hope you'll join me as we discover what this game has to offer.
