EASTERN FRONT by Compass Games The Soviets are dug in and waiting... now all they can do is hope that the Germans attack where they're strongest. Welcome to my Combat! Eastern Front campaign. Rather than playing through the published scenarios, I've decided to put one of the game's biggest features to the test: the Random Scenario Generator. Can it create believable, challenging and, most importantly, enjoyable battles straight out of the box? Let's find out together. In this episode: Generate our first random scenario. Prepare the Soviet defenses. Complete the setup and meet the enemy forces that will fight this mission and maybe a full campaign. ⚠️ A quick note: At around 27:00 a short section of the setup is missing due to the camera not recording. The missing setup is fully explained and recreated in Episode 2. Many thanks to one of the channel members for spotting the problem. Before starting this campaign I played Scenario 1: Barbarossa... and discovered that Combat! Eastern Front is far more challenging than I expected! Even the introductory scenario proved to be a tough fight. That experience made me wonder whether the Random Scenario Generator might produce even more interesting battles than the published scenarios. So that's exactly what we're going to find out over the coming episodes.
