Nostalgia. It always takes us back to good times. Fourth Edition Warhammer Fantasy Battle is definitely that place. I am pretty new to filming gaming activities. Each new video I learn a bit more. This being said, take a run with us as we go all the way back to 1993? In this battle report I teach my son, Kieran (10 yrs), how to play WFB 4th edition. I likely haven't played 4th/5th edition in over 15 ++ years... But it should be like riding a bike not? This was the system I cut my teeth on. I had played a few games of 3rd edition prior to getting that first big red box set, but those rules are a whole different animal. For rank and file wargaming I have mostly been playing King of War lately. So this report could have a hodge-podge mixture of KoW, 4th/5th WFB, and even 6th/7th WFB rules used... Creating this scenario was a spur of the moment decision so I tried to stay true to the 4th ed. rules. To be fair I only glanced them prior to our match. Grom the Paunch is leading his forces into the High Elf territories. With his main force on a different path, his smaller flanking force stumbles upon a small village during his rampage and battle ensues. Will Eltharion or Grom win the day? The scenario seems to be written by Nigel Stillman. Of course, WFB was created by Rick Priestly. I love this scenario and have played it a few times over the years. Please note I am not a competitive power wargame type. I prefer scenario based play or campaigns. Fun and theme are king. A few errors (or quite a few lol...) I noticed during this game as follows: *Called a rock lobber a bolt thrower.. *Called the village the goblin village.. *Forgot to roll to wound on the first elven volley... *Forgot orc n goblin animosity most of the game.. *Can you hit models when shooting if your modifiers take you beyond 7+ in this edition - cannot for the life of me remember? *Forgot fear rules when the Wyvern or the Griffon charged.. *Is there an overrun move if your chariot mows things down - don't think so in this edition.. *If a rider on a monster is hit do they add a +1 to their save like cavalry models? *Likely forgot about initiative for prolonged combat on who strikes first... *Wyverns probably have scaly armour saves.. uggggg WFB original design: Rick Priestly Scenario: Nigel Stillman Publisher: Games Workshop Thanks so much for watching!!!
