As a kid I loved G.I. Joe. In grade 5, in the early 80's, my best friend Matt had a wonderful figurine and vehicle collection. Shortly after I started getting my own stuff as well. I also collected the comic through the late 80's and 90's. The stories by Larry Hama were nothing short of brilliant. I recently purchased this game and have now played six times both solo and with 2 and 4 players. I am currently highly enamoured with this design. I especially love the fact you can upgrade your Leaders and I really like how the vehicles work in the game. But again, I am a huge G.I. Joe geek. This session will be a solo play through of Mission 1: The MASS Device. This follows the same story-line as the cartoon series and yes, I still have that on VHS.. Sometimes you think you have exactly what you need to take on a group or side mission. Sometimes you spread things in an attempt to do to much in a tighter time frame. Sometimes it works and other times not so much. I have only won the game once so far. Also sometimes the dice just don't come up stars. This session there are definitely times where I gambled on things... Much to my own chagrin. I have found getting a few vehicles into the hangar early is a very good thing.
