Will vs Tones - 2023 Tak Open - Game 1 - Tones Self-Commentary Live

Description provided by Simmon Tak on YouTube:

This is a special look from Tones at his own thought process while playing. Tones live-streamed his games against Will and alion02 (both 2-game matches played within a couple hours of each other on the same day) and gave commentary on the games as he played them. He was kind enough to send me the videos so I could upload them to YouTube so other people can benefit from seeing this. This is Tones, #3 ranked player worldwide, vs Will, #4 ranked player worldwide, in the 2023 Tak Open. 0:00 Introduction 1:27 Game 1 This is the 2023 Tak Open Tournament, which is played on a 6x6 board with a 15-minute time limit for each player and a 15-second increment per turn. These games are played with 2 komi, meaning black gets 2 added to their flat count score at the end of the game if the game does not end in a road. These are 2-game matches, so the players get a chance to play as each color when facing each opponent. The tournament was played in the Nohat Tournament system, which is a modified Swiss. The top 3 finishers (who aren't already qualified) will qualify for the 2024 Tak Championship tournament. The winner of the tournament will also receive a set of carved stone capstones. I'll try to be streaming while recording when possible, just not for my own games this tournament. https://www.twitch.tv/simmon_tak Check out Tak at BoardgameGeek: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/197405/tak Music at the end of the video and that is on the "Stream Starting Soon" screen on Twitch is provided by SystemGlitch. Check him out https://www.youtube.com/c/SystemGlitch I've also said it before, but I always plan to keep all the videos on this channel ad-free so there are as few barriers to entry for new Tak players as possible. You shouldn't have to sit through ads to see great Tak content, so I'll do that. I do, however, have a Patreon. If you like the content and want to encourage me to keep making it with money, that's the place to do it. I feel weird talking about it, but there are some perks to joining and you can find those out here: https://www.patreon.com/Simmon_Tak
