Watch “Live Commentary - 2021 Tak Open - UnSweet vs PlutoTheBrave,” a gameplay video for Tak from Simmon Tak on BoardGameVideo.
Description provided by Simmon Tak on YouTube:
In this video, we take a look at the 2021 Tak Open Tournament match between Tak veteran and top player, UnSweet and a two-time tournament winner and rising star, PlutoTheBrave. The ending of the second game was... a bit of a doozy. My internet died - I think in the very last second of the game. But I do give the audience closure on what happened :)
PlutoTheBrave has been a top 10 player since earlier this year after coming tied for first in a Blitz tournament with NohatCoder and then winning the Intermediate Invitational Tournament a month or so later.
UnSweet has been part of the Tak community since it began, back in 2016, but took a year or two off of the game and only recently came back. His skills haven't dulled too much, however, and has been known to take down top players like Abyss. He also has some quirks about his play, like not wanting to ever win by flats. He is also underrated on playtak.com because he only plays humans - not bots - and has more human games online than anyone else by a longshot.

14:48 Game 2
This is the 2021 Tak Open Tournament, which is played on a 6x6 board with a 15-minute time limit for each player and a 15-second increment per turn. It is played in Nohat System, which is a variation of the Swiss system meant to allow for more games in a shorter period of time while still yielding accurate results. It is hosted by the USTA (US Tak Association) and the first-place prize will be unique wood and resin capstones handmade by the current president of the USTA, Bill Leighton with the winner's input to their design. Second and third place will receive Wolf & Hawk Metal Capstones and Chandrian Cloth Board respectively, both from Worldbuilders Market. The top 3 finishers will also qualify for the 2022 Tak Championship, which is held every two years.

I also have a Twitch channel! I'll try to be streaming while recording when possible, just not for my own games this tournament. https://www.twitch.tv/simmon_tak

I've also said it before, but I always plan to keep all the videos on this channel ad-free so there are as few barriers to entry for new Tak players as possible. You shouldn't have to sit through ads to see great Tak content, so I'll do that. I do, however, have a Patreon. If you like the content and want to encourage me to keep making it with money, that's the place to do it. I feel weird talking about it, but there are some perks to joining and you can find those out here: https://www.patreon.com/Simmon_Tak
