Live Commentary - 2021 Tak Open - alion02 vs fwwwwibib - Game 1

Description provided by Simmon Tak on YouTube:

In this video, we take a look at the first game from the 2021 Tak Open Tournament match between reigning Tak champion, fwwwwibib, and a brand new player, alion02. While it's no surprise that fwwwwibib is holding that #1 spot in the tournament, alion02 is new to Tak and the community - mostly making a name for himself by designing incredibly complex Tak puzzles. Let's see if this puzzle maker has what it takes to take down a Tak titan. 0:00 Introduction 3:14 game 1 This is the 2021 Tak Open Tournament, which is played on a 6x6 board with a 15-minute time limit for each player and a 15-second increment per turn. It is played in Nohat System, which is a variation of the Swiss system meant to allow for more games in a shorter period of time while still yielding accurate results. It is hosted by the USTA (US Tak Association) and the first-place prize will be unique wood and resin capstones handmade by the current president of the USTA, Bill Leighton with the winner's input to their design. Second and third place will receive Wolf & Hawk Metal Capstones and Chandrian Cloth Board respectively, both from Worldbuilders Market. The top 3 finishers will also qualify for the 2022 Tak Championship, which is held every two years. Check him out https://www.youtube.com/c/SystemGlitch I've also said it before, but I always plan to keep all the videos on this channel ad-free so there are as few barriers to entry for new Tak players as possible. You shouldn't have to sit through ads to see great Tak content, so I'll do that. I do, however, have a Patreon. If you like the content and want to encourage me to keep making it with money, that's the place to do it. I feel weird talking about it, but there are some perks to joining and you can find those out here: https://www.patreon.com/Simmon_Tak
