Watch “Unboxing The Artificer's Travel Set - Special Edition from Bill Leighton,” a board game unboxing for Tak from Simmon Tak on BoardGameVideo.
Description provided by Simmon Tak on YouTube:
Hey there, folks. This is a pretty amazing opportunity. We have the special Artificer's Travel Tak Set prototype from Bill Leighton, author of Mastering Tak: Level 1 and board member of the US Tak Association. He has engineered and built an absolutely incredible set. It's beautiful, it's clever, and it's just plain cool.
I was a little too impatient when I got it and just opened it up as soon as it arrived. The wife had the great idea to do an unboxing and she hadn't yet seen the set, so she got to share those first impressions in the video. Plus, there's the added bonus that she's an engineer and could look at it from an engineer's perspective as opposed to just a Tak Player's perspective. He sent this to me to get our perspective and to let him know if we found any issues or had feedback on what to improve. We did weigh the flats, and they were 3 grams. Which is exactly the same weight as the standard wooden pieces.
All in all, this thing is amazing and I can't wait to see what he comes up with next. I know he has some other ideas he plans on working with, so we'll hopefully be able to see those in the future. You can see what he's working on and other things on his Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/rabbitboy84/

The Discord is where most active players are, where community events are planned and discussed, where updates to Playtak are discussed, and the best place to find games with other people. You can also see tons of homemade and professionally-made Tak sets like this one there, too.

I also have an Instagram! Where a picture of a new puzzle is posted each weekday on a physical board and then a video solution is posted later in the day. Go check out @Simmon_Tak on Instagram!
I also have a Twitch channel! I'll try to be streaming while recording when possible. https://www.twitch.tv/simmon_tak
I've also said it before, but I always plan to keep all the videos on this channel ad-free so there are as few barriers to entry for new Tak players as possible. You shouldn't have to sit through ads to see great Tak content, so I'll do that. I do, however, have a Patreon. If you like the content and want to encourage me to keep making it with money, that's the place to do it. I feel weird talking about it, but there are some perks to joining and you can find those out here: https://www.patreon.com/Simmon_Tak
