Watch “Rallyman SHAKEDOWN: 15 - Joking Around,” a board game video for Rallyman: DIRT from Matt Elliott on BoardGameVideo.
Description provided by Matt Elliott on YouTube:
In this Shakedown, we're getting the complete rallycross experience and looking into some Joker lap strategy.
In terms of excitement, no Rallyman expansion comes close to what Dirt's RX expansion offers players: the thrills and spills of rallycross. Insanely fast cars buzzing around circuits with multiple routes from start to finish, hoping they make it to the end without anything important falling off thanks to the many nudges and shunts that are almost garaunteed to take place.
With regards to the mechanics of Rallyman, you already know a great deal about rallycross, even if you've never done it. End your turns out in front, in a high gear, and keep on top of what your opponents are doing so that you don't get caught out. But what's this Joker thing, and how does that work?
Our main aim today is finding out, and once you've seen how it works, I know you'll want to create some wacky joker laps of your own, so soak in some information, poke holes in the strategy, and get yourself through a couple of wild laps of rallycross.

SHAKEDOWN is a showcase of Rallyman and the community that makes it what it is. From variant rules to recreated race tracks, from serious strategy to silly situations to find yourself in, I want to highlight anything and everything that makes this game shine, much of it community created content.
There are many, many more things to show off in future Shakedowns, but what would you like to see the most? What aspect of Rallyman hasn't been explored enough? Which circuits are hidden gems? What rules do you insist others try out for themselves? Let me know, and be sure to spread the word about whatever great Rallyman content you find on your travels.
Files needed to recreate what you see in this Shakedown can be found on BoardGameGeek (https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/312959/rallyman-dirt/files), and while you're there, dive into the forums and tell us what mad designs you've come up with for your own rallycross circuits - how about two joker routes for a three lap race? It wouldn't be the first time that's happened in rallycross...
