In this video, I paint Silk and Spider-Punk from Marvel United: Spider-Geddon, using zenithal priming, contrast paints, Speedpaint Markers, washes, dry brushing, and carefully placed highlights. I begin with Silk and paint her dark costume with Black Legion. For the white spider lines, costume details, and the tips of her shoes, I use Dead White. I then use the Blood Red Speedpaint Marker to paint the red spider lines and mask with more control. Silk’s base includes a gravestone, so I use Apothecary White to create a cold stone appearance and Snakebite Leather to give the surrounding ground a muddy look. After painting her face, eyes, and hair details, I apply Reikland wash to the face and Nuln Oil to the costume. To complete the graveyard atmosphere, I add a small amount of grass and a tiny white flower to the base. Spider-Punk has a much louder and more colorful design. I use Ultramarine Blue for the main blue areas, followed by Glacier Blue for the vest and highlights. Blood Angels Red is used for the spider suit, red costume details, and the guitar body. I paint the black outlines around the eyes before matching the boots to the vest with Glacier Blue. Grim Black is used on the guitar neck, while Enchanted Steel adds a metallic finish to the guitar hardware and speaker grille. Finally, I lightly dry brush Glacier Blue along the clothing edges to strengthen the highlights and bring the sculpted textures forward. Silk feels clean, controlled, and mysterious, while Spider-Punk is colorful, energetic, and rebellious.
