Watch “How I Paint Marvel United Minis: Jean Grey & Cyclops #lotusthalia #marvel #marvelunited,” a board game video for Marvel United: X-Men on BoardGameVideo.
Description provided by Lotus Thalia on YouTube:
In this Marvel United miniature painting video, I paint Jean Grey and Cyclops from the X-Men, starting with zenithal priming and building each character with contrast paints, highlights, washes, and detailed basing.
I begin with Jean Grey, using Blood Angels Red and Baal Red for her hair, Bad Moon Yellow Contrast with Moon Yellow for the suit, and Space Grey with Intense Viking Grey for the blue-grey armor. For the face I use Pale Flesh, with Mocca Skin for the brows and eye lines and Snake Green for the eyes. Reikland Fleshshade, Drakenhof Nightshade, and a yellow wash add depth, while the base is finished with Blinding White, a subtle pink tint, Crushed Grass, small stones, and grass details.
Then I move on to Cyclops. His suit starts with Ultramarines Blue, while the belt and buckles are painted with a Moon Yellow and Leather Brown mix. Dark Wood Contrast is used for the hair and Pale Flesh for the face. Before the washes, I highlight the raised muscles with Fog Grey, then use Reikland Fleshshade on the skin, Seraphim Sepia on the yellow details, and Drakenhof Nightshade over the blue suit. The metal section of the base is painted with Leadbelcher and shaded with Black Wash, then finished with Crushed Grass, stones, and grass tufts.
Jean Grey and Cyclops are two of the most iconic X-Men characters, and painting them together was a fun way to continue my Marvel United miniature painting series after my recent Spider-themed projects.
Which Marvel United character should I paint next?
