I painted Claudyne from Tainted Grail: Kings of Ruin, using aged metallic armor, a deep red cloak, ghostly turquoise effects, and a glowing fire sword. Tainted Grail is one of my favorite board game worlds, and we really enjoyed playing the original game. Now Kings of Ruin is next on our list, so painting Claudyne felt like a perfect way to return to this dark fantasy universe. In this video, I paint the miniature from the main base colors to the final details. The cloak was painted with Blood Angels Red, while Black Lotus was used for the darker cloth areas. The horses were painted with Basilicanum Grey, with Skeleton Horde, Mummy Robes and Steel Legion Drab used for the bone, bandage, saddle and rope details. For the armor, I used Aged Metal Base followed by Aged Metal Shade and lighter metallic edge highlights. Nihilakh Oxide was added to Claudyne and the horses to create the ghostly turquoise effects. The sword was painted with Polish Silver, Magmadroth Flame and Bad Moon Yellow. I also lightly airbrushed Orange Fluo onto the nearby horses to suggest a warm reflection from the sword rather than a strong OSL effect. The base was finished with Stirland Battlemire, grass and small white flowers.
