This is the 2023 Trans-AtlanTak Tournament, which is played on a 6x6 board with a 15-minute time limit for each player and a 15-second increment per turn. These are 1-game matches, alternating which team gets which color from the top seed to the bottom seed. Each team had a captain, alion02 for Old World and Simmon (me!) for New World. The captains decided the seed order of their players without seeing the selections of the other captain with the one stipulation that no player could be placed above another in the seeding if they had more than 250 tournament rating points between them. So, for example, you couldn't put your lowest-rated player in the top seed unless your lowest-rated player was within 250 points of your highest-rated player.
The last two times this tournament has been played, Old World absolutely dominated the New World. Can they do it again? Or can the New World finally put a win up on the board?
Each game is worth one point. The team with the most points at the end of the tournament wins. There were 13 competitors per team this year, so there were 13 games. One never happened due to scheduling issues, so 12 games were played and I was able to cover 8 of them for the channel.

Or come where all the action is, the Tak Discord server - https://discord.gg/2xEt42X
The Discord is where most active players are, where community events are planned and discussed, where updates to Playtak are discussed, and the best place to find games with other people. You can even play with other people asynchronously (correspondence games) right through the Discord server!

I also have a Twitch channel! I'll try to be streaming while recording when possible, just not for my own games this tournament. https://www.twitch.tv/simmon_tak

Music at the end of the video and that is on the "Stream Starting Soon" screen on Twitch is provided by SystemGlitch. Check him out https://www.youtube.com/c/SystemGlitch
I've also said it before, but I always plan to keep all the videos on this channel ad-free so there are as few barriers to entry for new Tak players as possible. You shouldn't have to sit through ads to see great Tak content, so I'll do that. I do, however, have a Patreon. If you like the content and want to encourage me to keep making it with money, that's the place to do it. I feel weird talking about it, but there are some perks to joining and you can find those out here: https://www.patreon.com/Simmon_Tak
