Lost Ruins of Arnak: Twisted Paths expansion -- What's New & How to Play

Description provided by Tabletop Toby on YouTube:

Today we're taking a look at Twisted Paths, the 3rd and final expansion for the board game Lost Ruins of Arnak. We get two some new sites to discover along with some new assistants, rewards, idols and even some new solo play options. But most importantly, we get two new boards -- the Spider Temple and Owl Temple -- that shake things up more than any of the prior expansions. We'll take a look at what's new and run through how to play each of the new temple elements. The Spider Temple brings different rewards on the research track depending on which path you take. And it also introduces a new resource -- dark tablets -- that you can use to invoke alters on the research track that allow you to use artifact cards from the market...but at a point cost depending on how many dark tablets all players have used in the game. Yet, there's an area control game around each altar that lets you reclaim some of those points back, if you have a majority or are tied for a majority. The Owl Temple introduces a new tier of level 1 sites that has two idols, but costs 2 gold in addition to the 3 compasses, But then again some of the base sites offer some extra goodies as well. The temple tiles are actually puzzle pieces and two of them form a new idol slot you can use...and they can be further down on the research track and not just at the top. Further, now your magnifying glass can take secret passages for rewards. It gets trapped there, but your new research token -- the lantern -- takes over from the bottom and gets an entirely different set of rewards on the way up and also scores! #lostruinsofarnak #czechgamesedition #boardgaming #tabletopgames #tabletopgaming #boardgame #boardgames #boardgamegeek #tabletop #boardgaming #boardgameaddict Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tabletop_toby/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TabletopToby/ For media inquiries, please email tobytabletop@gmail.com 00:00 I.
