Review: Miskatonic Expeditions (prototype)

Description provided by Tabletop Toby on YouTube:

Overview and review of the prototype of Miskatonic Expeditions, an upcoming print-and-play boardgame that is in crowdfunding now. Link to Gamefound campaign: https://gamefound.com/en/projects/papertigers/miskatonic-expeditions Miskatonic Expeditions is a cooperative Lovecraftian-themed drafting and tile-laying game with engine building for 1 to 4 players with both one-off scenarios and a roguelite mode. Miskatonic University has been thrown into madness, shifting and infested with Outsiders. Find the ritual book and then collect the needed book and monster type to perform the ritual in the required room. Then the Maw of Madness will be called. Defeat it and maybe...just maybe...the university will be returned to normal. Or maybe it is just the first battle of an ongoing war! Miskatonic Expeditions has two modes -- Field Study with 6 scenarios starting with a tutorial and building in complexity. But then there is the Endless Research Mode, which is a roguelite mode that is the heart of the game, where the Maw grows in strength after each defeat and the University breaks apart and reforms itself. And you must perform yet another ritual and defeat it again! Buuuut you are stronger too, you gain skills and can keep a remnant of your last battle in hopes it is enough to see you through. Perhaps you can find your way through this madness and end the reign of terror that plagues the University... 00:00 I. Introduction 00:29 II. Game Overview (setting, modes, gameply) 04:06 II.
