Watch “Live Commentary - 2022 Q3 Beginner Tak Tournament Blitz Tiebreaker - Sephira vs Olexorus,” a gameplay video for Tak from Simmon Tak on BoardGameVideo.
Description provided by Simmon Tak on YouTube:
This is a special Blitz Tiebreaker match between Sephira and Olexorus to see who qualifies to the playoffs from their group. These two players are in Group 3 out of the four, and only the top person from each group moves on. Blitz feels very different from regular Tak and the time pressure definitely changes how you play the game, so it's a slightly different skill set to see who comes out on top.
This is a Blitz tiebreaker, which means it's not played on the 15 minute +10 second increment time controls. Instead, this is played on the 3 minute +5 second increment time controls.

This is the 2022 Q3 Beginner Tak Tournament, which is played on a 6x6 board with a 15-minute time limit for each player and a 10-second increment per turn. These are 2-game matches, so the players get a chance to play as each color when facing each opponent. The tournament was played in four round-robin groups with the winner of each group moving on to a single-elimination playoff bracket.
The first-place winner of this tournament gets their pick of the Wolf and Hawk metal capstones or a 2nd Edition Tak Set(provided by Greater Than Games) as a prize with second place taking what remains. Additionally, there is a drawing for 4 random players who completed all of their games to win either a paperback copy of Mastering Tak: Level 1 or a high-level game review from a top player.

I've also said it before, but I always plan to keep all the videos on this channel ad-free so there are as few barriers to entry for new Tak players as possible. You shouldn't have to sit through ads to see great Tak content, so I'll do that. I do, however, have a Patreon. If you like the content and want to encourage me to keep making it with money, that's the place to do it. I feel weird talking about it, but there are some perks to joining and you can find those out here: https://www.patreon.com/Simmon_Tak
