THE MAGIC BULLET (VOL. 2, ISSUE #9): “WHY THE X-FILES CCG WAS CANCELED (WITH DAVID MAY)” The X-Files Collectible Card Game (CCG) | United States Playing Card Company | USPC Games | Card Game History | Game Development | Interview | Trading Card Games (TCGs) | Detective Games | Mystery Games | Deck-Building Card Games | Customizable Card Games | Dead CCGs | Mulder and Scully ——————————————————————————— SUMMARY The Magic Bullet is your source for the latest X-Files-related news and updates in The X-Files CCG universe. In April 2026, Special Agent Stephen interviewed David May—formerly of USPC Games and Journeyman Press, two divisions within the United States Playing Card Company, who worked on The X-Files Collectible Card Game in various roles while it was in production in 1996 and 1997. In this video, Mr. May discusses the internal struggles within the United States Playing Card Company that played a role in the game’s cancellation, and (though hr was slated to be terminated along with the rest of USPC Games’ staff by October of 1997, Mr. May divulges the name of the key USPCC employee who intervened on his behalf, effectively granting him a four-year stay of execution that (in that time) would lead to the formation of Journeyman Press and the games produced under it. As an added bonus, this video features early drafts of the unfinished X-Files CCG 3rd Edition that Mr. May was working on just before the game was discontinued. #XFilesCardGame #CardGame #CardGames ——————————————————————————— CHAPTERS: 00:00 - 00:34 - Introduction 00:35 - 01:51 - Unfamiliar Territory 01:52 - 02:38 - Unfinished 3rd Edition 02:39 - 04:25 - David May, USPC Games Team 04:26 - 11:33 - Why XFCCG was Cancelled 11:34 - 14:32 - Stay of Execution 14:33 - 15:05 - Conclusion / Coming Soon! 15:06 - 16:58 - Obligatory Call to Action, End Screen ——————————————————————————— HELPFUL LINKS: 🟠 Follow me on Instagram! https://instagram.com/alieninvestigations_xfilesccg ⚫️ Follow me on TikTok! https://www.tiktok.com/@alien_investigations_xf?_r=1&_t=ZP-96pPysUV4UZ 🔴 Follow my X-Files discussions on Reddit! https://www.reddit.com/u/Alien_Investigations/s/24MPOdKD5E 🟣 Join our X-Files CCG Discord community! https://discord.gg/9s6xUqspTT 🟢 Joost Berns’ The X-Files CCG site: https://mandalornl.github.io/x-files-ccg/ 🟡 Simon Goodman’s The X-Files CCG site: https://thex-filesccg.smgoodman.co.uk 🔵 The X-Files CCG Preservation Society Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/178AekhYkU/?mibextid=wwXIfr (**Go here to see the 040460 Season Four 2nd Edition cards!**) 🔵 The X-Files Collectible Card Game Facebook Group: https://m.facebook.com/groups/xfccg/?ref=share ——————————————————————————— MUSIC & VIDEO: Intro Music: Music from #InAudio: https://inaudio.org/ Epic Hybrid Sci-Fi Music by Infraction ▶ Youtube Link: https://youtu.be/2H8kJBjdYvU?si=TK6O9wcNT3BuzT0y End Screen Music: Music from #InAudio: https://inaudio.org/ Cyberpunk Game Stream by Infraction / Badly ▶ Youtube Link: https://youtube.com/@Infraction?si=zJj0mydS638hjTjT
