Watch “Warhammer Underworlds – Sepulchral Guard | Bone White + Contrast Workflow #lotusthalia #warhammer,” a board game video on BoardGameVideo.
Description provided by Lotus Thalia on YouTube:
In this Warhammer Underworlds miniature painting video, I paint the complete Sepulchral Guard warband using a Bone White primer, Skeleton Horde Contrast, three different cloak colors, aged metallics, controlled washes, and matching scenic bases.
The Sepulchral Guard are seven undead warriors trapped within the cursed city of Shadespire. Although their bones share the same painting workflow, I wanted their faded identities to remain visible. For that reason, I divided the cloaks into three distinct color groups:
• Deep Purple creates a spectral, necromantic atmosphere.
• Blood Angels Red makes the Sepulchral Warden stand out as the leader.
• Black Lotus gives the remaining warriors a darker and more silent presence.
Starting with a Bone White primer allows Skeleton Horde Contrast to settle naturally around the ribs, joints, and damaged bone surfaces. This creates warmth and depth while keeping the skeleton details readable.
For the shields and leather details, I use Dark Wood before moving on to Leadbelcher and Hammered Copper for the weapons, helmets, and armor. Seraphim Sepia, Agrax Earthshade, and Reikland Fleshshade help connect the different materials while preserving the aged and weathered appearance of the warband.
Finally, I add controlled highlights and build similar scenic bases for every miniature so that the seven individual characters still look like one unified Sepulchral Guard warband.
This video documents my own complete miniature-painting process. All painting, filming, narration, editing, basing, and final showcase footage were created by me.
