Landmarks + ROOTbots w/ Ehss, May '22 (Winding the Gears)

Description provided by GIVEPAUSE hobby on YouTube:

NOTE: Sorry! The title card in the video says "Using Landmarks & Hirelings" but that was a typo. It should've said what the thumbnail NOW says (Using Landmarks + ROOTbots) and then NEXT Thursday we'll dive into the Hirelings + ROOTbots NOTE #2: Fixed the timestamps! Thanks @thedeltastrat! Welcome back to Winding the Gears, a sub-series of the ROOTbot Academy where I dive into the work in progress Better Bot Project, or as in this case, stuff that's created by community members outside the "official" development of the BBP. In this episode, I look into the solution for using Landmarks with ROOTbots made by Ehss. They're not the only person working on this front, nor are these landmarks the only thing they've made so far... more on both of these fronts coming! Enjoy! Here's the link to the Woodland Warriors discord post for Ehss' work: https://discord.com/channels/476234833572397056/739520566901342309/978007841925382194 ----------TIMESTAMPS… 0:00 - Greetings & Intro 1:02 - Where these rules come from and the PNP process ----------THE LANDMARKS 3:29 - The Landmark intro 4:25 - The Ferry 7:14 - The Tower 8:56 - Lost City 10:18 - Legendary Forge 11:33 - Elder Treetop 12:58 - Black Market ----------OTHER STUFF 14:54 - Landmark wrap-up MY PLACES... This was the first video in my reboot of the whole clockwork series, entitled ROOTbot Academy. Enjoy! https://youtu.be/3dP4pSm22u8 \ BETTER BOT PROJECT \ If you're interested in this or any of the other free-to-print BBP factions, head on over to Board Game Geek to get the most up-to-date files as well as read any discussions that might be taking place: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/2068034 \ MY FLOWCHART \ And if you catch a glimpse of the inside of my Root box cover, my homemade Root faction flowchart (with major props to Tom Teaches for the better icons) is available to print and have with you at all times, in case you or other players need some help with faction choice. Also, this will be getting a total overhaul with the new factions sometime this spring once I've had more time to play around with them: https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/196837/root-faction-flowchart \ MY POEM ABOUT THE FLOWCHART \ This was my entry to the 60-Second Root competition to help celebrate the Marauder Expansion, wherein I confess my undying love for the game in the form of prose, referencing the aforementioned flowchart and what it means for a game to inspire _this_ much creativity in its fans: https://youtu.be/6LsG60eNuxQ \ MY TRUMPET EXERCISES \ Speaking of undying love and creativity, here are the eight exercises I wrote for trumpet inspired by the eight factions currently in print (the rats and badgers will have to be added soon!): https://youtu.be/6LsG60eNuxQ \ ROOT THE MUSICAL!? \ Okay, now I'm just being ridiculous. This was ANOTHER creative project that sort of lit my brain on fire for one weekend... I made a spoof on a different song from a different Broadway musical for each of the currently published factions... I know... usually this is when someone says "get a hobby" but clearly I already have one... https://youtu.be/8M9mha1xuL0 MY THANK YOUs: MUSIC! For the incredible work that every member of the Leder team puts into titles like Root in order to transport us to the ruthless, wondrous woodlands, from the bottom of my heart I thank you. I also additionally thank Kyle Ferrin and the Leder team for making some of his ridiculously good Root artwork available for the 60-second Root competition so I could make this new venture look that much prettier (all rights reserved to Leder Games and Kyle Ferrin as applicable).
