Trick-taking is one of those board game genres that people either love or completely bounce off of. For a long time, I was firmly in the “this is not for me” camp. In this video, I share the two trick-taking games that finally changed my mind: 7 Prophecies and The Bottle Imp. Both of these games approach trick-taking in very different ways, but each one adds just enough twist, tension, and clever design to make the genre click for me in a way it never had before.
