Description provided by GameRules Studio on YouTube:
Welcome to Timeline Classic 🕰️ — the quick and clever card game of historical events and wild guesses!
Created by Frédéric Henry and published by Asmodee, this educational and entertaining game challenges players to correctly place events in chronological order.
🎯 Timeline Classic is a history-themed trivia and logic game for 2–8 players that lasts about 15 minutes.
Each card shows an invention, discovery, or historical event — your goal is to decide when it happened compared to the cards already in play.
No need to know exact dates — just think: *“before or after?”*
🃏 Gameplay Summary
1️⃣ Setup:
- Shuffle the deck and deal 4 cards to each player.
- Place one card from the deck face up in the center — this begins the Timeline.
- All other cards stay face down in players’ hands.
2️⃣ Player Turn:
- Choose one of your cards and decide where it fits in the existing Timeline — *before* or *after* the other events.
- Once placed, flip it over to reveal its date.
- If correct — it stays!
- If wrong — discard it and draw a new card from the deck.
3️⃣ Winning the Game:
The first player to get rid of all their cards wins!
Play multiple rounds or mix different Timeline sets for variety.
💡 Tips & Strategy
- Start by placing cards with the most obvious time periods first.
- Use major inventions or wars as anchors for your guesses.
- Mix multiple Timeline editions (Science, Inventions, Events) for greater replayability.
- Great for families, schools, and trivia nights!
Timeline Classic is quick to learn, fun to play, and sneakily educational — perfect for classrooms, families, and trivia fans.
