Welcome to 7 Wonders Duel, the award-winning 2-player game from Antoine Bauza and Bruno Cathala, published by Repos Production.
Lead your city through three Ages, develop science, military, and wonders — and outsmart your rival!
🎯 7 Wonders Duel is a two-player card-drafting and civilization-building game that plays in about 30 minutes.
Win by achieving a Military Victory, Scientific Victory, or having the most points at the end of the Third Age.
1️⃣ Setup:
- Lay out the Age I structure face-up/down as shown in the rulebook.
- Each player chooses 4 Wonders (draft 4, then 4 more).
- Place the Conflict pawn in the center of the military track.
- Place coins: each player starts with 7 coins.
- Shuffle Progress tokens and reveal 5 for this game.
2️⃣ On Your Turn:
Choose one available card (not covered by another) and do one of the following:
- 🏛️ Build the structure (pay its cost, add to your city).
- ⚒️ Discard for coins (gain 2 + 1 per brown/yellow card you own).
- 🏗️ Build a Wonder (place it under a Wonder board, activate its effect).
3️⃣ Resources & Chains:
Cards provide resources or chain symbols (icons at the bottom).
If you own the matching symbol from a previous card, you can build the new one for free.
4️⃣ Military Victory:
Each shield symbol moves the Conflict pawn toward your opponent.
If it reaches their capital → instant win!
5️⃣ Scientific Victory:
Collect 6 different science symbols → instant win!
If not achieved, use Progress tokens for bonuses.
6️⃣ End of Game:
After the Third Age, if no instant victory — count points from:
- Civilian, Science, Military, Wonders, Money, and Guilds.
The higher total wins.
💡 Tips & Strategy
- Watch the shared pyramid carefully — taking one card may open two for your rival.
- Balance economy and science — neglecting either gives opponent control.
- Wonders are huge swings: timing matters more than cost.
- Don’t ignore military pressure — it can end the game early!
