Dune: Imperium—Rise of Ix

Description provided by Corax & Coffee on YouTube:

Dune: Imperium (2020): a board game; based on a story; based on a setting with sand worms, spaceships, and lasers that shields impact causing nuclear explosions. What more could you ask for? Well, what if we were to propose that the subtext of the story of Dune set in the universe of Dune, is about power, politics, and the ever-present existential fear of annihilation? And what if we were to go one step further and propose that the sub-subtext is getting at the critical importance of ecological conservatorship? One could argue (as we sort of are) that this is what Frank Herbert’s Dune is really about. But that is getting beyond our scope and is perhaps best left to a class on science fiction literary criticism. But. If there were a game based on certain aspects of the aforementioned universe and story, what more could you ask for? Well. How about more of it!? Enter: Dune Imperium: Rise of Ix, designed by Paul Dennen and published by Dire Wolf. This expansion contains a new “epic“ game mode, dreadnoughts with which for you to rule the earth, skies, space, and …Imperium? New great houses with new leader abilities, and more. Join Pete as he unboxes the first expansion to Dune Imperium. Pay attention. And go read Dune. The spice must flow.
