**3 RULES CLARIFICATIONS: 1. Regarding spending loyalty crowns to avoid penalties:* As I mentioned in the video, you can spend loyalty crowns when it's time to pay your duties (1 crown per duty). What I failed to highlight is this does NOT protect you against losing points. Spending crowns will only protect you from the PENALTIES (penance, begging, royal court). You STILL lose the victory points per item you can’t pay! *2. Regarding playing a card & then discarding a card:* Your discard pile can NEVER have more than 6 cards. Through various events, you may be forced to discard multiple action cards on your turn, but your discard pile should always max out at 6. Whenever you play an action card, check your discard pile AFTER playing your action card. If your discard pile is bigger than your action pile, you do NOT discard a card. You only discard a card if your ACTION pile is larger than your discard pile (which will be the case for most of the game as you play 1 card and discard 1 card). It just so happens that there are a few times where you will not always discard a card after you play your action card (due to special events or penalties). *3. Regarding blue event cards:* There are 2 slots at the top of the board to hold up to 2 blue long-term event cards per era. If (rarely) a third blue event comes up within a the same era, replace the oldest blue event at the top with the new one.
