Hello everyone! Whose Turn here to talk about one of our group's favorite game: Stone Age! This game is a great, well rounded worker placement and resource gathering game. You take turns placing workers, gathering resources and improving your village, while also building huts and buying cards.

Eric's Score: 9. Stone Age is a great Worker placement and resource management game. It's well rounded, and never really feels like you're not doing something as you're always either placing workers to gather food or resources, buying cards or building huts, or increasing your Wheat/Workers/Tech. There is always something that can be done, and the strategy comes from placing you're workers in the best spots. It's a great into to board gaming game, and can help pave the way into much more advanced worker placement games. The biggest downside is that it's very dice reliant, and while tools help to negate that, they take alot to build up to make a difference. Every board game group needs this game!
Rich's Score: 9. Stone Age really sets the standard for into games. It's well rounded, and has just enough luck that even experienced players can lose in this game. There are some strategies that are always used, but overall it's got a wide variety of ways to play and you're always doing something. While it's never a reason to get together for a board game night, it's always worth playing.
Craig's Score: 7. Stone Age does several things well, and it's always fun to play. But if I'm being honest, I would much rather play other games. To repeat what Rich and Eric have said, this is very much an intro game for getting people into board games. Wish there was more to do for blocking people, or more reward for doing it besides denying them points, and the fact that everything relies on dice to get your resources or rewards, can be very annoying. Don't get me wrong, is a fun game to play, but would rather get several other board games to the table before this one. Is something that everyone should have in their group, for sure.
And there you have it! Overall, we're fans of this game and have played it for way too long. There are other, more advanced games out there that do the same idea but better, but this is a great way to include people who don't normally play games.
If you're looking for other games like Stone Age, check out Caverna. It plays similar to this, but is much more advanced. Otherwise, Architects of the West Kingdom is also a worker placement and resource management game that does alot of what Stone Age does, but better.
