Watch “Painting Magneto & Storm – Marvel United Miniatures with Lotus Thalia,” a board game video for Marvel United: X-Men from Lotus Thalia on BoardGameVideo.
Description provided by Lotus Thalia on YouTube:
In this Marvel United X-Men miniature painting video, I paint two legendary mutants: Magneto and Storm.
I begin with Magneto over a German Field Grey primer. For his cape, I create a dark red-purple airbrush blend using Nocturnal Red and purple. Glory Red defines his helmet and inner costume, while Chainmail Silver adds contrast to the metallic armor details. I finish the miniature with controlled drybrushed highlights.
Next, I paint Storm over a Bone White primer. Off White defines her iconic hair and the smoke effect beneath her, while Black Lotus creates a deep, dramatic cape. I use Bronze Skin and Pale Flesh for her face, a yellow marker for the eyebrow details, Gold for the cape tips, and a grey wash to add depth to her white hair.
The two miniatures use very different color palettes: Magneto combines dark red, purple, and silver, while Storm brings together black, white, gold, and natural skin tones.
Which finished Marvel United miniature is your favorite: Magneto or Storm? Let me know in the comments!
