Learn the rules to the card game Stack the Deck quickly and concisely - This video has no distractions, just the rules. Don't own the game? Buy it here at discount: https://buy.triplesgames.com/stackthedeck Official Website: http://www.tandmgames.com https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/464731/stack-the-deck RULES: The object of the game is to score the most points over ten rounds. Shuffle the deck and deal 5 cards to each player, number side up, which players line up in front of themselves. Place the remainder of the deck facedown in the middle of the table, forming a draw deck. The player left of the dealer goes first, then play proceeds clockwise. On your turn, draw 2 cards from the top of the deck. You may play none, one, or both of the drawn cards onto your faceup cards in front of you. To play cards, you must complete a pair—which is two identical numbers; Or a 3 card run—which is 3 cards in ascending or descending sequence. Runs are played overlapping downward; you may not change the sequence direction, wrap around from 1 to 10 or vice versa, insert a card at the top of the stack, nor rearrange cards between stacks. When you complete a pair or 3 card run, flip that stack over so the “Yay! This stack scores!” shows. After first playing one of your two drawn cards on your stacks, you are allowed to steal another player’s stack with the other card. To do so, you must complete either a run or pair on an opponent’s stack. Add your card to their stack then take it and flip it face down in front of you. You do not have to steal if you don’t want to. Wilds represent any color and number. Wilds may not be used to steal other player’s stacks, nor can you steal a stack that has a wild in it. If your draw a pair, you may immediately play them down in front of you and turn them over as an additional scoring stack. This is optional; you may split up the cards if there are higher scoring alternatives in your hand. If you are unable to play, or if you choose not to play one or both of your drawn cards, then you put them back into the deck wherever you want below the 2nd from the top card—there is no discard pile. This is called stacking the deck. When you stack the deck with 2 cards, the cards can be kept together or separated. Once one player has flipped all their stacks, or if a player has all their stacks stolen, then the round ends and points are scored. The first person to go out is the first to tally their score followed clockwise with the other players. You score 5 points for a pair, 10 points for a pair of the same color, 10 points or a run, and 20 points for a run of the same color. You lose 5 points for every unturned stack in front of you, and you also lose 20 points for every unturned wild. See the back of the box for a scoring reference guide. If you have no cards in front of you at the end of the round, then you score 0. Record your scores, gather up all the cards, and play another round. After 10 rounds, the game ends and the player with the most points wins!

About Stack The Deck, from BoardGameGeek:

Stack The Deck™ is a party card game where players are dealt five face up cards numbered 1-10 and different colors. Players arrange cards, in no particular order, in a row of five stacks in front of them. Play begins with the first player drawing two cards from a draw pile (there is no discard pile). The goal is to complete these stacks by creating either pairs (same or different color) and 3-card RUNS (same or different colors). Once a stack is completed it is turned over to lock in a score & prevent stealing. The first player to complete and turn over all their stacks wins the round and is first to tally their points. The player with the highest score after ten rounds wins the game. After a player draws their two cards, one of them must be played on one of their stacks first, if possible. If one of the cards can be added to their own stack then they have the option to use the second card to steal any other players unturned stack by creating a pair with one of their cards OR completing one of their 2-card runs with the 3rd card. Once a stack is stolen, it is handed over to the stealing player and it now adds to their end of round score. If one or both drawn cards are unplayable, they are turned back over and inserted strategically back into the draw pile, to Stack The Deck. Stack cards needed by other players deeper into the deck. That is where Stack The Deck™ got its highly recognizable name. There are WILD cards which can be substituted for any card # or color. Smart use of these cards is one key to winning. And stacks which include a WILD card are safe and protected from being stolen. And a player cannot steal another players stack using a drawn WILD card. WILDS can only be played in the player's stacks in front of them. Once a player successfully turns over and locks in all their stacks a round ends for everyone. Points are totaled: 5 Points for a different color pair, 10 Points for a same color pair, 10 points for a different color 3-card run and 20 points for a same color run. If a player goes out and leaves other players with unturned stacks they are penalized -5 points for each unturned stack and -20 points for any unturned WILD card(s). For a game that is simple to learn, there is a great balance of strategy and luck. And since all cards are visible during game play, all players are watching & anticipating what cards are drawn, how they will be played and if they will be victim of a steal.
