Here we look at a playthrough of the next-to-last mission of the 1973 Yom Kippur War campaign in Down in Flames: Locked-On from Dan Verssen Games. The tally thus far has been three Israeli victories and one draw. The IAF has lost just one plane while the EAF has had a tough time of it. In this mission, an Israeli Nesher-S has its hands full with a trio of Egyptian jets: two MiG-17F Frescos and a MiG-19S Farmer. Reinforcements of a sort arrive in a single A-4E Skyhawk, a ground-attack jet which, though ill-suited for dogfighting (to say the least), gamely joins the fray to help his buddy out. Can the Nesher-S and its gun-and-bomb-only, ground-attack reinforcement hold off three MiGs over the Sinai? That's the scenario...
