Watch “DIDAYO - Say It Right!,” a board game video for DIDAYO from The Purple Owl Games on BoardGameVideo.
Description provided by The Purple Owl Games on YouTube:
DIDAYO is a Fast-Paced Fun Game. Players must quickly say the correct word or color, not always matching what's written on the cards.
The game's core mechanic revolves around the interplay between the color and text on the cards, with the Mode Card determining how players should respond. The addition of Action Cards adds variety and unpredictability to the gameplay.
This video allows a glimpse of the course of the game and its main rules.
What's it all about:
Say it right - don’t get confused by the card’s text or color.
Game Objective:
Play fast and avoid making mistakes so you don't have to take more cards.
At the end of the game, the player with the fewest cards is the winner.
Contents - 72 playing cards:
• 44 Color Cards, containing text with the name of a color (red, blue, green, or yellow). The text is printed in color, but not necessarily the same color as the color name in the text (i.e., the text “Blue” can be printed in red ink)
• 27 Action Cards, affecting the game flow. See the table below for a list of the action cards.
• 1 Mode Card. The word Color is printed on one side of the card, and the word Text is printed on the other.
Gameplay:
At the beginning of the game, the Mode Card is placed on the table with the “Color” side faced up, and all the other cards are shuffled and placed face-down in a pile called the center pile.
Each turn, a card is drawn from the top of the center pile and put face-up next to the center pile. The faced-up cards create a pile called the open card pile.
The game is played quickly. An opened card is immediately placed on the open cards pile, and its action should be carried out immediately. Those who get confused or hesitate, take the entire open cards pile.
Details of actions:
If a Color Card is drawn:
• If the Mode Card shows “Color”, the player will say aloud the color in which the word is written, regardless of the content. For example, if the Color Card text is “Blue”, the player should say “red”.
• If the Mode Card shows “Text”, the player will say aloud what is written regardless of the color of the text. For example, if the Color Card text is “Blue”, the player should say “blue”.
There are some action cards - see how to act in the video.
When a player makes a mistake or hesitates, they will take the entire pile of open cards.
End of the game and winning:
When no more cards are in the Central Pile, the player with the fewest cards wins.
