TURN THREE of TWELVE SCENARIO 70 - Blunting the Spearhead Battle of Kursk - JULY 1943 Opposed Playthrough - Using the vassal logfile from the game. Pierre as elements of the German 9th Panzer Me as Stalin's Favourite - Elements of the 109th Tank Brigade and 6th Rifle Division The Band of Brothers series is headed back to the East Front for the second half of the war. Refight the battles of the 2nd Guards Tank Army, "Stalin's Favourite", the unit was created in January 1943. In the campaign season of 1943 the unit fought in the battles at Sevsk and Kursk. In 1944, the 2nd was key to stopping the German III Panzerkorps as they fought to save German units trapped in the Cherkassy pocket. Later in 1944 they raided deep into Uman and lead the way crossing the Romanian border. Going into 1945 the unit was considered elite and its tanks were some of the first to go into Berlin. It is the only Soviet Tank Army of the war that still exists today, now named 2nd Guards Army. Stalin's Favourite includes 16 new scenarios from 1943-1945. Wargames old and new.
