Watch “ALIENS: The Out-of-Print Holy Grail Board Game on My Shelf | Leading Edge Games 1989,” a board game review for Aliens from SharedXP on BoardGameVideo.
Description provided by SharedXP on YouTube:
ALIENS by Leading Edge Games is one of those out-of-print board games that feels less like a product and more like an artifact.
In this first video in my Aliens board game playlist, I open the box, get some rules wrong, look over what came inside, and talk through why this 1989 sci-fi horror game earned a place on my shelf. This is not just nostalgia. It is a chance to look back at a game from another era, when board games often tried to capture a movie, a universe, and a feeling with paper maps, counters, scenarios, and imagination.
This video is part unboxing, part shelf archaeology, and part “why does this matter?” overview. We will talk about the game, the Aliens universe, the appeal of out-of-print holy grail games, and why some older designs still deserve time at the table.
The channel is about board games as shared experiences: the stories we tell, the memories we build, and the strange little artifacts we gather around like a campfire.
Future videos in this playlist will dig deeper into the rules, actual play, scenarios, components, , and the 3d print model.
