Description provided by APBA Football Club on YouTube:

Paul Smith, aka UK Stratsafarian on Instagram, is more than a year into his 2020 MLB replay using Strat-O-Matic. We came across his channel and asked if he’d discuss his progress at length. Here are the details of his approach, his method, his stat keeping with iScore, his view on plausability vs. extreme accuracy and his perspective on the American pastime from across the pond. Paul, who works on a hospital surgical team, averages three to four games a day, often on his commute or in his “secret Strat spot” at his hospital. He aims to finish his project about the time of the 2027 World Series. Those games of Strat “are kind of the most important part of my working day because it marks, for me, ‘OK work is finished now. … It takes me completely out of my setting (and) I’m in this little world.’ ” Just because he didn’t grow up with American baseball doesn’t mean he’s entirely unfamiliar with U.S. culture or sport. In fact, in 2002-03 he took a bike trip through part of the South to experience the U.S. firsthand. And, he draws the clear parallels between baseball and cricket — offering his own U.K. sports bucket list for us Yanks. 8:49 How Paul got into baseball 16:10 His cycling trip to the U.S. 21:06 His replay method (Excel worksheets, AI, injuries and player usage) 27:53 Paul’s possible next projects 30:34: Other sports games (Title Bout, Glory Days Boxing,.
