Watch “[DIY Tutorial] The Arkham Horror Series: Custom Tokens,” a how-to-play guide for Arkham Horror from Nicita Greeneye on BoardGameVideo.
Description provided by Nicita Greeneye on YouTube:
In this video I'm going to show you how to make custom tokens for Arkham Horror.
For the sanity tokens, I used drawings of a brain, for the stamina tokens, I used pictures from old anatomy books and for the clue tokens I used sheet music (I think Brahms), old letters, tentacles and old absinth advertisement, things that I felt fitted in with the Lovecraft-theme.
There are tons of amazing lovecraft-themed drawings on deviantart, but I didn't know if the artists would have been okay with me using them for YouTube-videos.
If you are making your own tokens be sure to check them out!
~Materials I used and where to find them~
You can get the pebbles at any store with an home decor departement. They usually have them in all sorts of colours and also with different diameters.
The glue I used is glue for jewellerymaking, to be exact for glueing cabochons on paper. It doesn't blur the ink, that is why I prefer it. It is called "Glossy Accents" and I got mine on dawanda, but if you live in America, you can get it at Michaels (I am envious).
The paint I use is enamel paint (the one some people paint miniatures with). You can get it at a craft store and also sometimes at toy shops in the modelmaking section. It is really cheap.
For the clear varnish, you can also use clear enamel varnish or clear polymer clay varnish or even clear nailpolish. You can get those at craft stores, and you can get clear nailpolish anywhere (and it is also very cheap).
The tentacle brushes I used in the Thumbnail and the end of the video are by Punksafetypin, this is her Deviantart page: http://punksafetypin.deviantart.com/
