The Making of Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader | 40k History

Description provided by Jordan Sorcery on YouTube:

Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader was the first edition of the science fantasy wargame that would literally upend an industry and change pop culture forever. And this is the history of how it happened. Written by Rick Priestley, the same man who had co-created Warhammer Fantasy, this miniatures wargame would take liberal inspiration from not just Priestley's earlier work, but the films, books, television, and comics that surrounded it's creation. Frank Herbet's Dune, 2000 AD and Judge Dredd, Blakes 7, Dr Who, and even Star Wars, they all played a role. But it was thanks to Priestley, and an incredible team at Citadel, that WH40K would be crafted in its uniquely radical, punk, satirical, grim dark style. A style that would utterly alter the fate of Games Workshop and the lives of gamers the world over. _____________________________ Support My Work: DOWNLOAD MY FANTASY BATTLE SCENARIO DEAD KING WENCESLAS: https://jordansorcery.itch.io/dead-king-wenceslas ELEMENT GAMES AFFILIATE LINK: https://elementgames.co.uk/?d=11216 PATREON: https://www.patreon.com/jordansorcery KO-FI: https://ko-fi.com/jordansorcery INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/jordansorcery/ BLUESKY: https://bsky.app/profile/jordansorcery.bsky.social WEBSITE: https://jordansorcery.com/ DISCORD: My Discord is now open to exclusively to Patreon supporters & by invitation only #Warhammer #40k #Warhammer40000 #GamesWorkshop #tabletop #boardgames #RPG #wargames #RogueTrader #SpaceMarines #WH40K _____________________________ References, Sources, and Links: [Rick Priestley Interview - Jordan Sorcery] https://youtu.be/RkJIx5lRyVE [Alan Merrett Interview - Jordan Sorcery] https://youtu.be/eSgtqUCTpi0 [Chaz Elliott Interview - Jordan Sorcery] https://youtu.be/QGDOtURF0YA [Rick Priestley Interview - Tales from the Maelstrom Blog] https://talesfromthemaelstrom.blogspot.com/2011/09/rick-priestley-interview.html [Talking Miniatures - Amazon Affiliate Link] https://amzn.to/4dMMWrK [Combat 3000 - A Life in Miniature] https://life-in-miniature.blogspot.com/2014/04/combat-3000.html [Martin McKenna’s Staff Portaits - Nurgle.Stelio] https://nurgle.stelio.net/stuff.php [Realm of Chaos 80s Blog] https://realmofchaos80s.blogspot.com/2017/04/warhammer-40000-rogue-trader-original.html [H Interview - Rogue Trader Technical Diagrams] https://roebeast.blogspot.com/2014/01/ [The Stuff of Legends - Rogue Trader Miniatures Archive] http://solegends.com/citrt2/index.htm _____________________________ Art, Music, and Copyright: Images used belong to their respective copyright owners Jordan Sorcery Theme by Joylin Music Jordan Sorcery Heraldry by Becka Moor Jordan Sorcery Heraldry and Theme copyright @jordansorcery
