Welcome back to One Last Hand. This is my full review of Storyfold: Wildwoods after completing the entire solo campaign from beginning to end. I played through the prologue and all five chapters on the channel, with the full campaign taking around 6–7 hours to complete. All of the footage in this review comes from that completed playthrough. Storyfold: Wildwoods is a narrative solo adventure game where you play as Luma, alongside her bear companion Brom, as they try to heal the forest from an encroaching shadow. The standout feature is the folding storybook system, where the book physically unfolds to become the board. That gives the game an immediate table presence, but the real question is whether it is more than just a clever production gimmick. Mechanically, the game is built around a river of action cards, dice allocation, success thresholds, crystals for mitigation, and shadow cards that slowly pressure your spirit. It is smooth, accessible, and very quick to set up and tear down, but the reliance on d8 rolls means bad luck can still decide key moments if you do not have crystals ready. In this review I talk about how Storyfold: Wildwoods works as a solo game, whether the folding book system adds anything meaningful, how the action river holds up over the campaign, and who I think this game is actually for.
