Alright, here's something brand new for the channel: board game poetry! In a spaceship! ...er, a car that I sometimes consider my spaceship... you know how it is.
This is a weekly challenge for myself, to use the medium of poetry to convey my love for board games... particularly the ones that require at least two humans to play (and in whichever style of poetry fits the bill for that game). I talk a LOT about solo games on this channel, but honestly, just like many of you, I'm really starved for get those multiplayer games off my shelves in the After Times, while meanwhile really enjoying the great two player experiences out there with my wife (when the kiddos allow for such indulgences).
Enjoy!
If you're _really_ in a hurry for the poem:
0:00 - Title card & pre-poem
3:54 - ETHNOS POEM:
Let me tell you a tale of the colors I’ve seen,
That shouldn’t combine but strangely do,
Of a map of red and forest green,
And towers of pink and baby blue.
Let me tell you a tale of a plastic tray
That looks like a boon, but really’s a trick
Where you’re better off using baggies today
Or tomorrow’s big mess will just make you sick
When you take off the lid to see what’s inside
The wingfolk, the goblins, the giants, the elves,
A fantasy world that’s as deep as it’s wide
That just might keep the box off your shelves.
For you see every tribe has a powerful trick
And to ignore any one would be folly,
So look to the face-up allies and quick!
Because your rivals need allies too, by golly
Collect them by tribe to be flexible,
Or by color: join tribes to one story
But one thing that can be perplexible,
The size of the band helps determine your glory
As the game goes on the glory may shift,
Cast aside lands may become so much more
And if you lose sight of this shadowy drift
Wins on the map may not help with your score
Just make sure you don’t wind up laggin’
Stay busy until the age runs out of time,
Otherwise you’ll get caught by the dragons,
Our group calls them dargons, but that doesn’t rhyme
