Welcome to Kovray! We're a couple who adores board games and seeks to share our joy and passion with you. Today it’s just me, Ilya, in one of my rare solo videos and for good reason. This is a solo game that deserves a closer look. Let’s step into our pastry shop and start baking. Pasteles is designed by Scott Almes, it's illustrated by Jorge Tabanera Redondo, and published by Salt & Pepper Games, who shared a prototype copy of this game with us! Each scenario gives you a different recipe to complete, with its own setup, schedule, special rules, and victory condition. Across each round, you’ll prepare the shop, manage employees, collect action tokens, check for equipment breakdowns, and decide whether to increase your market share before opening for the day. Once customers arrive, you’ll fold pastry sheets according to the recipe, then place action tokens onto matching flavour icons to fulfill customer orders. Served customers reward you with money or future tokens, but any customers you leave unserved can reduce your market level. At the end of each day, you’ll pay your employees, optionally repair equipment, and prepare for the next round. If you ever cannot make a required payment, your business closes and you lose. Otherwise, you’ll keep working through the scenario until the final round, then check whether you met that recipe’s victory condition.
