Join us on Homo Ludens, the channel where history and board games collide, for an exciting live stream event! In this new episode of "One's a Crowd", I'm joined by Liz from Beyond Solitaire as we dive into "Stilicho: Last of the Romans," the acclaimed game designed by Robert DeLeskie and published by Hollandspiele in 2020. Together, we'll explore the turbulent era of the Roman Empire as it teeters on the brink of collapse, facing threats from the Goths, Vandals, Alans, and a usurper from Britannia.
"Stilicho: Last of the Romans" is the eagerly awaited sequel to "Wars of Marcus Aurelius," bringing back the intense card-driven gameplay and challenging combat that fans adore, now with new mechanics that add even more depth. Our mission is to outmaneuver Rome's numerous enemies, navigate political intrigue, and prevent the fall of the Western Empire, all with limited resources.
Tune in to witness our strategic decisions and historical insights in real-time. We'll be tackling the game's nefarious Surge mechanism, enemy-on-enemy battles, revolts, and defections, all while attempting to outwit the wily courtier Olympius. It's a daunting challenge, but with your participation in the live chat, this will be an interactive and engaging experience for all history buffs and board game enthusiasts.
