Nidavellir Board Game Review

Description provided by GideonsGaming on YouTube:

To challenge the dragon Fafnir, the dwarves must assemble the bravest armies made up of people and heroes from a variety of vocations. In Nidavellir, players compete for these recruits by bidding coins for the right to choose ahead of the other players. **Gideon's Bias** Review Copy Used: Yes Number of Plays: 7+ Player Counts Played: 2, 4 & 5 Fan of Genre: Partially Fan of Weight: No Gaming Groups Thoughts: Enjoyed It Additional Bias: I'm exceptionally bad at Nidavellir, which could skew my perspective. **Nidavellir Information** Publisher: Hachette Games, GRRRE Games Designers: Serge Laget Player Count: 2-5 Genre: Bidding, Set Collection, Combo Building Weight: Light Price: $39.99 **Pros** The coin bank is a nifty component Nidavellir is fast to set up, quick to play, and easy to put away A simple game with a lot of depth A great bidding system pairs nicely with the coin swap mechanism Tons of strategies with player interaction at the center of it all **Cons** The game feels less strategic with just two players The black-and-white art style feels bland The game's theme has no connection to its gameplay **Links** Website: https://gideonsgaming.com/ Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/GamingGideon Twitter: https://twitter.com/GideonsGaming Kofi: https://ko-fi.com/gaminggideon Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/gideonsgaming/ **Time Stamps** 00:00 Overview 00:40 Presentation 02:06 Dwarven Number Crunching 04:17 Auction House 05:50 Player Count & Theme 07:31 Verdict **Attribution** Crusade - Video Classica by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1100884 Artist: http://incompetech.com/ Firesong by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1100598 Artist: http://incompetech.com/ Celtic Impulse - Celtic by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1100297 Artist: http://incompetech.com/ #gideonsgaming #boardgames #nidavellir
