The story of this game is centuries old and an example of cultural exchange. When the Spanish conquistadores came to the new world, they brought their games with them. Although a direct connection is not clear, evidence infers that this series of games was highly influenced by Anquerques, popular in southeastern Europe at the time.
This is a two-player jump-and-capture game with moves similar to Alquerques. It's called "Awithlaknannai" by the Zuni people of southwestern North America, and can be found in several sizes. NewVenture offers two of these in our catalog (see links below).
