How to Play Shallow Regrets | Judson Cowan | The small Deep Regrets Card Game | Button Shy Games

Description provided by Fun With Boxes on YouTube:

Welcome to Fun with Boxes, Episode 284: Shallow Regrets, designed by Judson Cowan and published by Button Shy Games Shallow Regrets is like the more streamlined version of Deep Regrets. Dive into this strategic horror fishing game and uncover some rather unsettling mysteries! Who knows what strange creatures might be hiding beneath the waves? Each turn, the player who is fishing gets to reel in two fish from the shoals they want. They can keep one in their boat, but if they don’t, it goes back to the shoals. Each fish has a strength level, and to keep it, the player needs to have enough hooks from their previous catch to match that strength. Most fish have cool, otherworldly abilities that can change how the game plays. You can use these abilities by using up the fish and turning it sideways to show that you’ve used its power. Once all the fish are caught, everyone adds up the total value of their fish. Some fish are considered ‘foul’, and whoever catches the most foul fish gets a penalty for not doing so well. The fisher with the highest total score wins the game!
