Doom Machine is a solo mint tin board game that delivers absurd levels of pressure for something that fits in your pocket. Dice. Cards. Escalating chaos. No mercy.
In this video, I break down Doom Machine, a thinky solo card and dice game where you face off against an ever evolving AI death machine that grows stronger every single turn. You roll dice, manipulate results, assign them to shields or attacks, destroy machine parts, unlock more dice, and desperately try to survive long enough to destroy the Doom Core.
Despite being a dice driven game, Doom Machine is all about planning, sequencing, and managing risk. You cannot just roll and hope. Every decision matters, and mistakes hurt immediately. The machine cycles its parts every turn, triggers brutal effects, repairs itself, locks your dice, and slowly overwhelms you if you lose control for even a moment.
I love mint tin games, and Doom Machine is easily in my top five. The art fits the dystopian theme perfectly, the setup is highly variable, and the difficulty hits that sweet spot where wins feel earned and losses feel personal.
