Watch “Fight 5 Review: They Fixed War… So Why Didn’t I Like It?,” a board game review for Fight 5 from Meeple AF on BoardGameVideo.
Description provided by Meeple AF on YouTube:
I don’t like the card game War.
My kids do.
So when Fight 5 showed up promising a version of that basic high-card concept with actual decisions, bluffing, and five battles happening at once, I thought we might have finally found common ground.
We did not.
In this review, I’m breaking down how Fight 5 works, where the strategy comes from, why some of its decisions didn’t feel all that meaningful, and the deeply concerning fact that even my War-loving kids weren’t sold.

There are things I like here: the small box, nice card production, quick playtime, and the tension when a Clash starts piling up points.
But with so many great small-box card games fighting for shelf space, is Fight 5 worth keeping?
For me, it’s Skip AF.
I wanted War with more game.
Apparently what I needed was just… a different game.
