Watch “$13 Expansion That Fixed Splendor Duel | The Counterfeiters Rules + Review,” a how-to-play guide for Splendor Duel: The Counterfeiters on BoardGameVideo.
Description provided by TheRulebook on YouTube:
In Splendor Duel you're a Renaissance jeweler crafting the finest adornments for royalty. In The Counterfeiters... you cheat.
In this video I cover ALL the new rules for Splendor Duel: The Counterfeiters (2026, Marc André & Bruno Cathala), then give my honest verdict: does it add unnecessary complexity to an elegant game, or is it a game changer?
What's new in the expansion:
💎 Glassware tokens — fake gems that can't buy Jewel cards, but bend every rule in the game
🃏 17 Counterfeiter cards — a new card type with permanent abilities: discounts, steals, bribes, even EXTRA TURNS
👑 8 new Royal cards — including two that move the finish line itself
