Designed by a long-distance hiker for both hikers and gamers alike. In the role of backpackers, players follow white blazes from Georgia to Maine as they visit Appalachian Trail locations, use Gear, encounter Wildlife, and live through Experiences and Weather on their path to reaching the opposite Terminus. Blazing Thru the Appalachian Trail is played by going through a Trail deck one State at a time, each player taking two turns per State. In a turn, they plan their hike (draw a card from the Planner) and then hike (play a card from their hand, score it, and take its action). Gear cards may be used at any time during a player's turn; Gear helps draw or play extra cards or avoid difficulties during a hike. The object of the game is to be the hiker with the most valuable experience (determined by points) at the end of the game, awarded during the game by Trail & Wildlife cards and State Bonuses.
