Yello is a fast-paced word association and reaction card game for 2-6 players in which players compete to think of answers that match a given category and starting letter. The objective is to collect the most cards by being the first to call out a valid answer when a card's colour matches the colour currently in play. At the beginning of the game, the deck is distributed face down among the players, and two dice determine the starting colour and letter. Players take turns flipping cards into a shared central pile, with each card displaying a category or topic. When a flipped card matches the selected colour on the die, all players race to shout an answer that fits the card's category and begins with the letter shown on the alphabet die. The first player to give an acceptable answer wins the entire central pile, setting those cards aside as their winnings. Players must think quickly, as previously used answers cannot be repeated during the game. Special wildcard cards introduce changes to the active colour or letter, requiring players to adapt throughout the game. When players disagree about an answer's validity, the group decides whether it is acceptable, while simultaneous answers are resolved through tie-breakers using a newly rolled letter. Play continues until all players have played their cards, after which the cards collected in each player's winnings pile are counted. The player with the most cards wins.
