Hotdog is a two player trick-taking game. At the beginning of each round, players will have a chance to pick the card ranking, trump suit, and a special rank. Along with a hand of cards, each player will also be dealt a plate of cards. Plate cards count as part of the player's hand, but they are visible for all to see. What sets Hotdog apart from other trick taking games is the choice of rank. During the bidding phase, players can pick whether cards rank normally (Ace - 9), or with the 9 ranked low up through Ace. Players also have the option to play with "the works" meaning the order of rank will change each trick! Points are awarded based on the outcome of the bidding phase and how many tricks each player captures. The first player to earn 5 game points wins. -description from designer
