Though sane individuals may all desire peace - wherein one does not harm another, the Cold War taught us at least that War is now ideological. When it does not break down into hot war the battles of today are even more preeminently in the spirit, between idea held and idea held. Here civil and global is in effect, brothers and sisters in institutions may be foes in motives and inspiration, sisters and brothers on the other side of the globe and living in foreign cultures may be our mental allies. As we learn how to defend ourselves in these new spheres it may well be that the lessons learnt and lost in battles on the physical terrain can inform our strategies and tactics in those of mind and cyberspace.
